Fail Safe (spring applied)

HYDRAULIC
Spring applied, hydraulically released brake range is often described as "Safety brakes". These units are typically installed and controlled as automatic safety devices on such machines as escalators, elevators, conveyors, mine winders and cranes.

Options include; adjustable torque control, automatic pad wear adjustment, monitoring devices, discs, hubs, hydraulic power supplies and pedestal mounting kits.

Direct Acting (spring released)

PNEUMATIC
Light to heavy duty braking applications are served by these fast-acting calipers. Sensitive and rapid response to air pressure level also makes them ideal for tension control applications.

Friction pads are secured by quick-release clips.

The MS, MX and GMRP series have spring retraction to insure ample pad clearance when the brake is released. The MS and MX series have an interchangeable range of air actuators.

ELECTRIC RELEASE
Various designs of electrically operated brakes are available, including the EMX system illustrated. Electrically operated brakes may be used in a variety of applications including; travel motion on cranes, conveyor braking, turbine braking, elevator and escalator braking.
